Aldo Jeffrey

Today has been rough.  Finding some consolation in the art of Aldo Jeffrey...  It is really rare for me when I find work that I feel like I can connect with.  There is just something about it -- the colors, the lines, and the words are all speaking to me today.

Please check out his work on his website and his etsy.

Looking for Jewelry with a BITE?  Well, I don't think that you will need to look much further than Chewlry.  They had a sidewalk sale in Orange County, CA this past Saturday and J. and I dropped by to check out the stash.  There were so many beautiful pieces and I had a very difficult time picking some to take home!  But since I was able to see the work of this lovely family up-close and in-person, I thought that I would come and share some of my "loot" and my opinions!  These are photos of my new treasures that I snapped when I got home.

First of all, I must say that the name "chewlry" is totally appropriate for their work.  The wonderful use of bright bubble gum colors and shiny baubles and beads looks almost edible.  Since the sidewalk sale was outdoors, the sun reflected off of everything and it just looked like a wonderland of sparkling goods.  But just because they are colorful does not mean that they are made cheap!  I could really see the great amount of love and care that went into each work.  It was wonderful to see some familiar pieces in person and preview some other ones that are not yet up on the site!  I spent enough to score a gift certificate for my next online purchase (Yay!).  I believe that Alyssa is having another sidewalk sale in Provo, UT and if you will be in the area, I suggest you head on over!

I ended up buying four pieces total.  The Francesca bracelet and the Yvaine earrings by Alyssa (both are in the first photo), the Stormhold earrings by Alyssa (second photo), and the White Grape necklace by Debbie Renee.  I wore some of my new accessories out on the town and I got several great compliments -- the colors are so bright, you just cannot miss them!  They were a great compliment to my solid-colored shirt.  I am a big fan of dressing up casual clothing with bold, head-turning earrings or necklaces. The White Grape necklace I picked out would look great dressed up or down!

So if you are not convinced by their amazing online inventory, I just wanted to vouch that everything looks even more yummy in person.
